About Us
Rooted in faith. Grounded in the Word. Committed to community.
Our Story
A Ministry Built on the Power of God's Word
Power of the Word Ministries was founded on the belief that the Word of God is alive, active, and transformative. From our earliest days, our congregation has gathered with one purpose: to hear, study, and live out the Scriptures.
Over the years, God has grown this ministry into a vibrant community of believers who are passionate about worship, discipleship, and serving one another. We are a church that welcomes all who are seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Whether you are new to faith or have walked with the Lord for decades, you will find a home here. We believe every person has a God-given purpose, and we are committed to helping you discover and fulfill yours.
Our Pastor
Pastor Terrence Hicks
Senior Pastor
Pastor Terrence Hicks has dedicated his life to preaching the uncompromised Word of God. With a heart for people and a passion for Scripture, he leads Power of the Word Ministries with humility, wisdom, and vision.
Under his leadership, the ministry has grown in both depth and reach — touching lives through Sunday worship, Bible study, and outreach. Pastor Hicks believes that a church grounded in the Word is a church that changes the world.
What We Believe
Our Core Beliefs
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
The Trinity
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — His death, burial, and resurrection.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism.
Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer and that God hears and answers the prayers of His people.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to live godly lives and serve effectively.
